Rubber Garage Floor Mats

Multiple Uses Of Rubber Garage Floor Mats

I often get asked why type of mats I am using near my bench that is located in the garage. I tell people they are the same mats that the people in our kitchen use.  Cement floors can get harsh on your knees, especially if you are standing on it all day long.  My work environment is a multi purpose room that simply has a thin carpet over cement.  Advil has become my best friend.

These mats are 1 inch thick and they are soft.  Many times in the summer if I am working outside in the garage I will walk barefooted on them.  Purchased from Harbor Freight we purchased enough to cover 15 linear feet from one end of the bench to the other.

Horse Trailers Love Rubber Mats

Another great use for rubber mats is on the floor of your horse trailer.  Horse shoes are murder on floors, however they offer the best support we have found.  The slip factor is very important and we want solid footing for the horse.  Again, we do not look for solid rubber mats that are as hard as cement we want them to have cushion to save the legs of our horse just like humans.  However, we do not look for as much cushion as we do on our garage floor.

Weight lifting rooms all have rubber mats and these mats are very solid with little give.  They have to stand up to the abuse of weights being dropped on them from at least 3 ft in the air.  They provide excellent support and make the room attractive.  Visit a college campus and you will probably find the school mascot in the middle of the room.
